Named in honor of Fannie Andis, who donated the land for Hancock Regional Hospital, the board of trustees of Hancock Regional Hospital has designated the Andis Women's Clinic and Women's Connection to serve at-risk and uninsured or underinsured women in Hancock County through a variety of programs and services.
Compassion and excellence in breast diagnostics:
Areas of special interest to women in Hancock County:
Breast Health
Goal: Provide the women of our community with information to assist in making informed decisions regarding prevention, diagnosis and treatment options for breast disease.
Breastfeeding
Goal: Promote breastfeeding for infants up to one year, based on the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and provide support for nursing mothers.
Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP)
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Program is sponsored by the Indiana State Department of Health and is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. With additional donations to the Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation, this program allows women who meet age, income and insurance guidelines, the opportunity to have a Pap test and pelvic exam, and a mammogram screening. By participating in this program, Hancock Regional Hospital is able to offer health care maintenance options to women who otherwise might not have these tests completed due to budget restrictions.
Women Helping Women (WHW)
The Women Helping Women program benefits women who have little or no health insurance, or who otherwise couldn't afford a mammogram screening. Through generous donations from our community to the Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation, mammogram screenings are paid for when a qualifying woman has one completed.
